This year’s DECA benefit dog show, entitled “Speak Out for Autism” will give family pooches a chance to strut their stuff for a good cause. On March 27, classy canines will take over the student parking lot, competing for awards in categories such as oldest, ugliest, fastest, and fattest dog.

For only a small entry fee of $15, entrants will receive a lime green St. Jude dog show t-shirt, and all of the proceeds will be donated to children with autism. Business teacher Cathy Bishop hopes to include the special education students who have autism in this event, as well.

Also, the show will host cake walks with goods provided by local bakeries, and costume contests for those who only come to watch. The student parking lot will be open at 1 p.m. on March 27 and admission is only $3 for those not participating in the dog show.
